Il supporto è un intonaco di calce idrata e sabbia di fiume, la superficie dell’intonaco non è perfettamente liscia, volutamente, come per intensificare il potenziale espressivo del colore steso su di una materia ruvida.
La tecnica è pittorica, a fresco
Le pennellate rossastre di terra di Siena bruciata sono il disegno, le prime tracce lasciate dal pittore sull’intonaco fresco, poi vi sono ampie stesure di colore bianco di calce velate di nero, molto diluito. Al centro una bellissima pennellata di azzurrite, non perfettamente a fresco, probabilmente aggiunta alla fine, quasi a secco.
Mi piace leggere la tessitura intrinseca alla materia, mi piace vedere paesaggi lontani perduti nei minuscoli dettagli di un opera d’arte

The support is a plaster of hydrated lime and river sand, the surface of the plaster is not perfectly smooth, deliberately, as to intensify the expressive potential of the color stretched over a rough matter.
The technique is fresco
The brushstrokes of brunt Siena are the design, the first traces left by the painter on the fresh plaster, then there are ample blankets of white lime veined in black. In the center a beautiful brush of blue, probably added in the end.
